Magical Snowy Winter Wedding at West Shore Cafe | Lake Tahoe
Stephanie & Danny | West Shore Cafe Wedding | Homewood, CA
Stephanie and Danny had the most beautiful and romantic winter wedding at the West Shore Cafe overlooking the majestic Lake Tahoe. Everything about their special day was magical, but the fresh winter snowfall during the ceremony was the icing on the cake! The couple made the day all about family, about both sides of their families coming together, and about their own growing family.
Photos from this wedding were featured on Real Weddings Mag and Emaline Bride.
All of the decor was DIY! Stephanie, who loves crafting, made everything from the signs to the blankets handed out during the ceremony. Even the floral arrangements and bouquets were made by the bride and her bridesmaids. Stephanie wanted to keep it natural using greenery and white florals to compliment the winter white day they ended up with.
Stephanie wore a faux fur jacket over her strapless beaded A-line wedding gown that was actually her mom’s pick. Her bridesmaids wore faux fur shawls to go with their forest green dresses. Stephanie wore white boots with grip that Danny picked out for her so she wouldn’t slip walking down the aisle in the snow! The men wore blue suits with cognac brown shoes and handcrafted leather bow ties from Kingsley Leather. Each of the men had a boutonnière made by the bridesmaids.
The couple exchanged gifts before the ceremony. Stephanie gave Danny a stylish and classic watch and Danny wrote Stephanie a touching letter that bought tears to her eyes.
The wedding ceremony was absolutely breathtaking. Even though it was only 30 some degrees outside, Stephanie was sure she wanted to have an outdoor ceremony. Stephanie even thought ahead about her guests’ comfort and made sure to provide personalized blankets to use during the ceremony. Just as the wedding ceremony was about to begin, the snowfall started. It was so beautiful and magical that everyone watching forgot that it was freezing outside. Danny’s niece sung a beautiful rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” during the processional. This personal touch during the ceremony meant so much to the couple and their family. Stephanie said she must have watched their wedding video a hundred times just to hear her sing again!
As you can imagine, the snowfall made the wedding party and bride and groom portraits absolutely beautiful!
Stephanie and Danny’s wedding reception was held inside the West Shore Cafe. The couple and their guest enjoyed a delicious dinner and lots of dancing. The couple opted for a sweetheart table at the front of the dining room with guests seated family style at four long tables facing them. The bride and groom provided a fun photo booth which was a big hit with the guests. Even though it ended up snowing during the ceremony, the snow stopped later in the evening and guests were able to enjoy s’more making outside on the fire pits and some fun photo time out on the dock. Stephanie and Danny ended the evening with a sparkler exit in the snow. What an absolutely amazing wedding day! More magical snowy winter weddings, please!
