Persian Micro Wedding at Kirigin Cellars | Gilroy, CA
Mona and Shawn | Kirigin Cellars Wedding Photos | Persian Micro Wedding | Gilroy, CA
Mona and Shawn had the most delightful and perfect micro wedding at the stunning Kirigin Cellars in Gilroy, CA. Clouds were in the forecast for the whole day that day, but the sun made a special appearance just for them as if it was meant to be a wedding gift.
Mona did an amazing job planning her intimate celebration in a really short amount of time, even amidst a last minute venue change due to COVID-19 challenges. She was so grateful that the amazing Kirigin Cellars was able to accomodate her plans. Kirigin Cellars is a gorgeous winery wedding venue with tons of amazing spots for wedding photos on the remarkable property.
Mona and Shawn’s wedding celebration was truly a micro wedding with under 20 guests and no wedding party. It was a beutiful and intimate celebration infused many traditional Persian wedding elements.
Mona and Shawn’s wedding day started off with some getting ready photos which was a special moment between Mona and her mom. Then it was time for some romance with a first look between Mona and Shawn.
Wedding photos were important to Mona, so she made sure we had a lot of time for portraits before the ceremony. We took advantage of many of the beautiful backdrops Kirigin Cellar has to offer for Mona and Shawn’s wedding portraits. We LOVE when the wedding day timeline has a lot of time for portraits!!! And, Mona was such a stunning bride, we could photograph her all day long.
After an amazing extended portrait session all around the Kirigin Cellars property, it was time for the wedding ceremony. Because both Mona and Shawn are Iranian, their ceremony had many traditional Persian wedding traditions. The most notable of those Persian wedding traditions was the Sofreh table. Mona and Shawn’s Sofreh table was adorned with many beautiful symbolic food, sweets, herbs and spices, candles, florals and other traditional decor. It was truly a beautiful sight and we had so much fun photographing all of the details.
After Mona and Shawn’s wedding ceremony guests gathered together to toast the newlyweds. The sun was starting to set at this time, so we took the new Mr. and Mrs. off for a few more portraits in the soft golden romantic light before it was time to say good-bye to Kirigin Cellars.
Congratulations to Mona and Shawn! We were so happy that they were able to begin their marriage journey in such a beautiful way, despite all of the challenges of COVID-19. We were honored to be the ones chosen to capture their wedding memories.
